Winter 2013

I know its been a long time since I have posted. Motherhood will do that to a person. Priorities shift. Time spent with my little one is more important than a blog. However, I love sharing her with my village and commemorating all of the milestones she has hit over the past few months.

Her personality is really beginning to shine through. She loves attention (who doesn't?) and has really begun to understand what I am telling her at times. She knows the cats name "Emma" and tries to look for her when asked and grunt out an "Eh'. Her verbal grunts have continued and I am trying to learn what they all mean.

Zola loves to explore, gets super excited when she recognizes a familiar face and squeals with excitement when her grannie "Mama Jilly" enters the room. I would like to think she does the same for me when I enter a room. I just notice it more with others.

Recently, she has started the act of clapping. Still trying to decide if its on purpose or if its just because she can physically clap. She knows to do it with patty cake and if someone else is doing it. Zola loves to pull herself to a standing position. Its much more exciting than crawling. And the drool. Oh the drool. No teeth as yet. Lots and Lots of drool.

Here are few photos from the past few months. I am just in amazement that I am her mommy and that we have finally found each other. People keep saying this phrase to me this holiday season and its true. We were meant to be together.

First Halloween: Ladybug

Zola had a wonderful first Halloween!! We went to my sisters to mark the special occasion and clearly Zo was unimpressed by the outfit.

We walked around the small townhouse development but it started to rain so we went back in for shelter. Regardless, we had a fun evening and I think my nephew enjoyed the company!!

check out my fancy bucket!

why does he have better candy, Mommy?
Hands off my candy!

Zola's Story

This story was written by a high school friends husband. I am so grateful to him for putting our story in black and white. Zola will always know how we were meant to be together.

Enjoy!!!

The Sunday Series 2: It’s Just About… Life.

Zola the face

You have taken this to community and beyond. The first Sunday Series was the most viewed/shared blog ever posted on this site, like nothing I have ever seen. And we are only scratching the surface of what is possible. I ask you to remember the mission of this series: to tell YOUR story. Stories about people who overcome great obstacles, show tremendous courage or sacrifice, those who live their lives in a way we can all emulate, and those who are not working to live, but living their work, their dream, doing the one thing they were born to do. My dream, to give back.

The Sunday Series, Chapter Two: Soul Purpose
No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you’re the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside.
- A quote from any Mother

Traci Kodeck yearned to feel that love. She always wanted to be a Mom. But by the time she neared her 39th birthday, the right man had still not come along to help make Traci’s dream of motherhood a reality. Or maybe he had, but the right man to Traci was someone who wanted to have children and her last relationship ended for just that reason. No kids, no marriage, no deal. Time to move on.
Traci and friend

On a trip to Utah to celebrate her 39th birthday with a good friend, Traci made the decision to go it alone. The desire was too strong, and in human hours, months and years, the clock was ticking. The right man was nowhere in sight. So Traci decided to experience life’s greatest miracle on her own and become a single mother. What she didn’t know at the time; G-d had other plans.

As she began her journey, Traci’s doctor ran some tests to check for any structural damage, turns out there was an abnormality in the uterus. A laparoscopic surgery was scheduled for September of 2010 and the issue was corrected. By November of that year, Traci took her first steps toward motherhood by purchasing sperm, and having an insemination.
Her first try was unsuccessful. No go, no pregnancy. Time to get ready for round two.
Even the average woman has only about a 20% chance of actually getting pregnant during each cycle. But for Traci, her second time around she beat the odds. The insemination worked, she was pregnant, but it was short lived. At ten weeks in Traci had a miscarriage. As anyone who has ever experienced one knows miscarriages are common, but it was still disappointing. Don’t forget Traci was making this journey alone. She said her family and friends were incredibly supportive, but it was her dream, her desire, her destiny and she wanted it more than anything else.
A 3rd try, a 4th try, no success. But on the 5th insemination, it took hold, and Traci was pregnant again. A joy that lasted less than two months. At seven weeks the baby’s heart stopped beating. The summer of 2011 was now one of discontent and disappointment. In the midst of all these attempts, the doctors, including a high risk OB, were busy running all sorts of tests. One theory for all the trouble was possible chromosomal conflict. But nothing conclusive. The only thing anyone knew for sure, Traci’s dream was on hold again, but her desire for that feeling of unconditional love kept her fight going. Sometimes to witness a miracle you need a little help along the way.
During this period Traci found a place of refuge, reflection and community, http://www.singlemothersbychoice.org/, there she could communicate with others going through the same challenges, setbacks and stories of success, which kept her inspired. She needed it, especially after her 6th and 7th tries were still unsuccessful. Pregnancy seemed like a distant dream.
tryingmothering
As Traci learned and as I too am learning, the global community created by the internet might just be the greatest single invention in recorded history to bring humans together. Traci was flying solo, but was always just one click away from a friend fighting for the same dream, and if lucky, soaring high and living that dream as well.
By her 8th attempt a long-time friend had come to Traci’s rescue, offering to be a sperm donor. But the end result was the same…a miscarriage. Another try, now number 9, ended without pregnancy. The road to a dream was getting rough, but sometimes pursuit of that dream and failure after failure leads you to look for another path, a different light, a new way. Through the single mother online support group Traci found the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM). A phone consult, a plane ride out west, meetings with social workers, financial counselors and a complete range of new testing and finally the doctors were ready for a recommendation: IVF with genetic testing. This time the process would start outside Traci’s body, in a petri dish in Denver, and if the embryo was healthy it would then be placed inside, for Traci to carry the baby to term.
CCRM
The process was a success, six embryos were created, and each one had a cell removed for genetic testing. Two weeks after those tests began, the doctors called. Only one of the six embryos was healthy, the other five had chromosomal abnormalities. Traci’s chances were down to a single embryo. If this didn’t work, she was out of options and out of money. Her best and only chance was this single embryo, a $30,000 roll of the dice. There weren’t dollars for another go-round and after nine other tries, if Traci had to call it quits, who could blame her. She had given it everything she had, her time, her money, her heart. If this was to be her higher calling, then this was her time.
August 24th, 2012, Traci flew back to Denver for the frozen embryo transfer. Two weeks later and now back home, Traci had confirmation, she was pregnant. Her local OB kept close watch, checkups every two weeks, and this time she made it to the end of the first trimester. And because of the genetic testing, Traci got some bonus news, the doctors could tell her the baby’s sex, Traci now knew she was having a girl. And she was three months in now; her longest pregnancy to date.
The days passed. Fall became Winter. Winter turned to Spring. It was almost time.
traci pregnant
If you want to learn what humility is, create life. If you want to know what love is, hold a child in your arms. If you want to know what a miracle is, talk to Traci. She knows and she can tell you the moment: May 6th 2013, 11:37AM. She can tell you the size of that miracle, 7 pounds, 3 ounces. And she can tell you the name of that miracle: Zola.
In all of human history there is no greater gift than that of life. To hold a child, your child, and to feel two hearts beat as one. Traci Kodeck made the choice and took that journey alone. She fought for and found her soul purpose.
And now Traci will never be alone again.
traci and zola
Until next time, thanks for taking the time.

Almost 5 months

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. August 26th. Zola was 16 weeks and has developed in so many ways.

21 weeks update:
Zo had her 4 month appt. she is 15 lbs and 25 inches. Clearly growing despite the comtinued reflux issues. She had 3 immunization and although she was a bit sleepy and fussy, she survived the process.

She also started oatmeal at 19 weeks. It's definitely a learning experience for both of us. She appeared to like it and we have moved to twice a day. She is still very interested in eating her hands so as you can imagine it makes this process challenging.
She is very verbal and loves to hear herself. She can grab an items with both hands, she started schoochin with her knees and face. It's hysterical and frustrating for her. Lots and lots of drool which doesn't really phase me since I am used to bibs and burp cloths.

I am trying to find the balance of work and raising my girl. I always knew being an SMC would be hard but some of the issues I believe I would still have if I was partnered. Only being able to spend a few hours each work day with Zola. Not enough time for that never ending pile of laundry and folding. Cooking. LOL! Does cereal count as cooking?

Zola has started sleeping better and through the night (just jinxed myself) or only wakes up once.
I love to watch her learn or try knew things and am trying to stimulate her learning as much as possible. Just signed her up for a "gym class" on the weekend. Even if I can't get to the gym, Zola can certainly go! She just started eating or trying to eat her toes. She still doesn't sit up alone but she is working on it.

Excited that many of my close SMC family are supporting me every day and getting ready to have more babies. Still in physical therapy for nerve impingement. Fun times. Zo is worth every jacked up body part!!
Will try to upload some photos but that would require me to get up and log on via my laptop and not iPad. Exhausting.

Will try to get better with posting but looks like its a monthly activity. Until we chat again....

Past few weeks

It's been a few weeks since I posted as going back to work has made me crazy!! Lots of updates!!

Zo has really started to smile and engage everyone with her personality!! She started to roll a few weeks ago but at 15 weeks really got the hang of it. This past weekend she rolled over in her crib and slept on her belly for 12 hours (gave me a heartache!!). She officially is in her big girl crib and that has helped us both sleep better.

16 weeks and she really holds her head up well and loves to look around at everyone.  I haven't weighed her recently but my carpal tunnel is worse and starting PT on Friday so I am sure she is over 14 pounds.

We took another road trip to see Great Grannie Charlie in Philly and she did great in the car ride!! Zo really is such an easy baby despite all the spitting up!! I just invested in more bibs.

Will also be doing the Totswap consignment sale in October; I have officially become a "mom"
I also set up an email for ZoPeKo and have been emailing her daily thoughts, milestones and memories.
Here are a few photos from the past few weeks.

Back to work

I guess my blog posts are going to be once a month now! Ahh the life of a working mom. I started back to work on July 15th. The time w Zo went so unbelievably fast. I can't even remember being pregnant with her although I knew it happened!!
Zo is growing like a weed and at her 2 month visit was 11 pounds 7 ounces and 21 3/4 inches. No wonder I have had carpal tunnel and need cortisone shots in both wrists.

I am definitely feeling my age as it relates to aches and pains. I spent the last few weeks visiting w friends, family and spending quality time w just me and Zo. My cousin, Josh and Liza spent and evening visiting w us on their US trip from Sweden. I am so honored they stopped to meet Zola as they are only in US a month every 2 years.

I started back to work and have been able to work from home on Tuesdays. My mom comes to watch Zo at my place and I know how much time this saves me in the morning. I don't have to get Zo ready for the day which saves so much time. I have also cut down my morning routine and can get ready in 30 mins TOTAL! No more lounging w my coffe and watching Today show.

The stressors of work haven't changed in 10 weeks (why did I think they would?!) ..but at least now I come home to the best girl in the world.

Week one down...photos to follow soon!

My Rainbow Baby is Here!!!

My sincerest apologies for not writing sooner. I have been slightly busy for the last 2 months moving and having a baby. Its completely surreal and I dont think its actually kicked in that I am a mom. Mom. Mother. Matriach. Momma. Madre.  Its just doesn't seem real.

As I said, I moved at 38 weeks into a first floor apartment in the county and closer to my parents. I rented out my condo to a resident at Hopkins so that was a huge relief. My mom pretty much unpacked my entire apartment the first week. I was so miserable with her in my ribs and barely eating due to feeling so full. She never dropped so she wrapped those toes around my ribs until the end. I was so happy I had taken the last week off before delivery. Here is my last photo before meeting my sweet girl.

At 39 weeks and 1 day, I checked into Mercy Hospital for my scheduled c-section. My parents picked me up and took me to the hospital where Lynell and my Doula, Emily met us there. You could feel the anxiety my parents were feeling. They weren't allowed to come back to the pre-op area with me. Lynell came back while we waited for Emily. My IV was started, the nurse shaved me  and I was asked a zillion questions. The anesthesiologist came to meet me and go over the process. I was told that they were running late and the woman next to me hadn't even gone back as yet. I spent the next hour getting more nervous and anxious. More about the procedure than actually meeting my daughter.

Despite having a 10 am scheduled c-section, they took me back around 11. Usually you walk back however I was so shaky, Rob allowed me to be wheeled. I recall the cold room, the doctors and nurses getting everything set up. The metal instruments off to the side. Dr. Chen admisistered the spinal (which was a piece of cake compared to the rest) and immediately my legs went numb and I lay down on the table. The rest is a big blur but it was a very short time to prep me and begin the c-section.

At 1137 am I heard the most amazing cries of my daughter. I cried. They took her to clean her and clear her lungs as she had meconium. She was 7 lbs 3 ozs and 20 inches long. She was perfect. Once she was wrapped up she was given to Lynell to hold while I was sewn up.

Zola Pearl.

The rest is really the start of me going downhill. I started to get the shakes from the drop in hormones and fluids. The shakes are common however they continues for the next 2 days. Although that is part of my birth story I don't want to focus on what happend to me as part of my recovery. I want to focus on the joy of my baby.

We spent the next 5 days at Mercy. Feeding. Getting to know her and healing. My mom, Momma Jilly spent the whole time with me in the hospital and the next 2 weeks with me at home. We took time to get to know each other. Zola was pretty content as long as you held her and fed her. The first 3 weeks were pretty much a blur of eating, diapering, burping and sleeping (Ha not really).

I can tell you that I am in love. I have never loved somone so much. I can't wait to share my journey with Zo when she is old enough. To let her know how much she was wanted and the road to bring her to me. I was reminded today that my 4 losses brought her to me. My 4 babies. My 4 angels lead me to my rainbow. They are watching down on her. She will know of them and this journey from beans to rainbow baby.

Countdown....

Talk about slacking!! It's hard to keep up on blogging with my really loooooooong to do list. The last few weeks have been physically difficult and emotional. Lots to update you on:

Trying to wrap up work things while fighting the no desire to be there. Mixed with packing and finalizing plans to move. It's crazy but I will feel better in 2 weeks when I am out of my 3rd floor no elevator or parking condo. I am living among boxes and most of my place is packed. My fabulous village came and helped pack my kitchen, bedroom and living room over the past 3 weeks!! Interject trying to have my realtor show it to rent it; which means keeping it semi clean...LOL!

Baby Olive started her non-stress test at 34 weeks and passed with flying colors, her doc said. She was 4 lbs 10 ozs last check which is the 25%. She feels like she growing like a weed. She did flip not that it matters however I can tell her butt is jammed up against my ribs. It used to be her head. Either end is painful and makes sleeping very difficult despite ambien induced sleep. The last few weeks are the hardest and testing my pain tolerance (which isn't that high). I often wake up in tears due to muscle constriction and pace the living room. And I was concerned about not " feeling her" at 19 weeks. My OB said you will be begging for this in a few weeks....ain't it so! I love feeling her move and poke its the jabbing and muscle pulling that can go!

Three weeks to my scheduled c section and I am definitely counting down. Braxton hicks are definitely happening and last weekend I peed myself (thank goodness at home!) I had 2 wonderful baby showers and my parents and sis have been super supportive!!

I met with doula today and had car set installed. Checking things off the list and trying not to think too much about the csection itself. Although I could do without the unsolicited comments of how much harder they are then vaginal delivery.

Time to do one more thing on my to do list to feel productive (3 things a day!!) and hopefully sleep a few hours pain free.

Can't wait to see you my sweet rainbow.

31/32 and scheduled due date

It's been a busy few weeks as usual and I am finding low energy, increasing to do list and growing baby makes updating the blog a bit more challenging.

Not only did we hit 8 months but I as able to finalize my scheduled c-section. My OB has been saying from day 1 that he thought my pelvis was too small. A 2nd OB confirmed and they think she wouldn't  descend. C-section it is. I am ok with it all (as long as people stop telling me how much harder it is!!) duh.

May 6th. I will meet my beautiful rainbow baby May 6th. I can't even wrap my head around it. I vascilate between excitement, fear and what ifs....I day dream about what she will really look like, act like and be! Scared to death something will go wrong. That its not going to happen. That the 3 year journey will be diverted. Normal feelings I guess?

So, I continue to take each day at a time. I finally, found a one bedroom/den apartment in my price range. Not my favorite part of the county due to commute but it will do and will resolve my parking issue. Over the last week, I have secured movers, started packing, made my 'to do' list and met with my realtor to list my condo as a rental. LOTS more to do in 6 weeks including move.

I am such a planner lets hope she doesn't plan to come early. All this and comtinimg to finish up things as work and prepare for maternity.

I was able to spend a bit of time with god momma and bestest friend in DC while she was here for a conference. A bad cold plus pregnancy didn't allow for our usual partying however we can always have a good time.

A couple days off this week have helped me feel less overwhelmed. Looking forward to acupuncture and a massage. It's a busy work week and these days I am usually only good till about 4 pm. I have 2 late 530 meetings. Hope I can mentally do it.

Luckily, March Madness has been a wonderful distraction....almost too much!

Off to finish a few odds and ends until its time for bed.

Thank goodness for ambien :)

30 weeks and Cankles

It's official....I have cankles! My feet have become swollen after work but this weekend they have not gone back down.
It was a long week at work but luckily I had a "snow day" in there. It never really snowed although I worked from home. Oh if everyday could be like that. It's getting harder and harder to motivate myself to work.

I had my 30 week u/s and despite her hiding her face the whole time everything looked fine. She is measuring 3lbs and 6ozs which is in the 48% percentile. Good job sweet girl. OB agreed that my rib pain was all muscular with some neuropathy. He said its not very common but does happen. Sticking to Tylenol as I don't want to expose her to ibuprofen. He agreed that was fine as was my upcoming prenatal  massage. I was able to finally get a 2nd opinion about having a vaginal delivery. Dr. Thompson who I really liked didn't think she would descend. So much for birthing hips its all about the pelvis. I apparently have a small pelvis. She said if I had my heart set on it I could "try" to labor. Hmmmmm....No thanks!! Hours of laboring to still end up witty a csection!! I will meet w my OB in 2 weeks to discuss process and most likely schedule my baby's birthday.

It's my dads 70th birthday today and as I try to motivate to go to dinner (my least favorite meal) I have been thinking about how important my dad has been in my life. This of course is bittersweet as I realize that Baby Olive will not have that amazing daddy's girl relationship. I know she will be surrounded by amazing men: cousins, brother in law, grandfather, godfather and friends....it's just not the same. A part of me is sad for her already.

I have been nesting a lot and purging items in my closets in case I need to live here. No update on finding a new place to live. It's starting to cause some anxiety but not much I can do about it.

Good things have some March Madness to distract me!

29....what a doozie

I must admit compared to others I have spoken to I have had a very easy pregnancy. The first two trimesters were pretty much cake so I knew my time was coming. Week 29 appeared to be that week. As I have been dealing with rib/left quadrant pain for the past several weeks, it finally came full force the other night.
Between intense rib pain and lower back pain, I found myself back in L and D the other night. I haven't been there since week 16 so not to bad. After paging my OB due to the intense pain where only pacing was a distraction, I headed over to Mercy at 11 pm. It was quick registration process and I must admit a better experience than last time. I had the normal monitoring of Baby Olive and all seemed to be well. Heart rate was steady and no contractions. Physical exam showed cervix was closed and baby was head down with her butt in my right side (which could explain the back pain)

Four hours later, I was discharged with no major issues but no relief from the pain (it actually was worse from laying on that damn hospital bed). I spent the night in tears and without any sleep. OB convinced me the next day to take Motrin which isn't really good for my baby Olive's heart. I slept like a rock for 4 hours and moved to my bed for another 3 and the pain had subsided. Ahh. Of course, this was temporary and has started to return. Waiting to hear back from OB on next steps. Am thankful I can work from home. It's gonna be a long 10 weeks or until she drops. It seems my uterus is pushing on my ribs/stomach/diaphragm causing the pain.

On a happier note, my sweet grandma had an amazing turnaround. She started eating more and drinking. I did see her last weekend and really didn't think she was going to make it to see Baby. I am more hopeful this week. The hospice nurse told her she had been in bed for 2 weeks and she replied," I have? Well, put down the bars and I will get up" Thats my sassy gran. She was singing and feeding herself. Hope the postive turn continues to help her get stronger. Having this baby has been a dream come true for me....introducing her to my grandma will be icing.

Looking forward to lots of icing in the coming weeks!

28 weeks...Third trimester!

What a bittersweet day. I woke up after a pretty good evening of sleep (considering my norm) as I had been actually sleeping in my bed since about 3 am. I laid in bed talking to Baby Olive and thanking her for hanging in there. Telling her I couldn't believe we had hit this major milestone of the  3rd trimester.

(Love that she is kicking and flipping as I type this post)

After my weekly belly photo and breakfast, I spoke to my mom to see how she was feeling since she had norovirus all last week. She was sad and weepy. My grandma, Charlie, who had been struggling all week to fight off some infection was not doing well. Not eating. Not drinking. Sleeping a lot. At 99, these were not good signs. The family had some tough decisions to make. It made me sad to think that I was supposed to be celebrating my 3rd trimester with her today. We changed plans as my mom was sick.

The thought of my grandmother not being around is devastating let alone not meeting my sweet baby. She was SO excited that I was pregnant (not once asking about how or who the father was). It didn't really matter to her. Before she moved to Philly in January, we would sit around her apartment and think of baby names. She loved Katie (apparently there is some old song about "Katie"). She loved her nickname was Olive (as this was the name of her one of her CNAs)

My hope is that Baby Olive does get to meet such an amazing woman. I hope that she has her spirit. Her love for family and neighbors. Her positive outlook on life which is what I think has gotten her to 99. Her ability to bake. Her love for angels.

So for now, I can only attempt to continue to have hope that this amazing matriarch will continue to fight. Will continue to get better and make it way past May. To not only hold my sweet baby but to pass on that amazing spirit.

My heart is full of love for Baby Olive and full of sadness for what may come to be. Is there even enough room for both?? I tried to do some happy things today. I didn't want baby Olive to feel my sadness or my tears.

12 weeks. 12 weeks still to find a new place, rent mine and move. Lots to do and hopefully distract me. At my last appt at 27 weeks, she was doing well. Cervix was closed. My blood work looked great and I tested negative for gestational diabetes. I go back on March 6th and hopefully will have a consult with the midwife group to determine feasibility of vaginal delivery. She will get weighed again at this appt.

For now, I enjoy the flips, flops and turns that I feel while counting kick counts daily.

Love you Charlie. Love you Baby Olive.

24-26 weeks

I have been a slacker these days...sorry!!! I finally hit the 6 month mark and definitely am feeling the difference.
Have been struggling with muscular rib pain over the past 2 weeks. At first I thought it was indigestion. Ehhh. Wrong. After being put on meds with slight relief and realizing the pain occurs almost always when I lay down or at the end of the day, it's switched to muscular. My acupuncturist, the fabulous Cricket felt that it could be congestion in the muscles that join the ribs. This area is part of the conception vessel in our bodies so it sorta makes sense. Cricket also offered to loan me her recliner. A true blessing.

After a wonderful (but sore ) treatment from acupuncture last week, I slept. The first time in several days. Everytime I would lay down on my sides I would (and continue to have) sharp pains that run across my rib cage and in the middle of where my ribs meet. Ever been asleep and have a sharp pain hit ya? NOT FUN. So sleeping is not restful. The only relief is laying on my back on an incline. Not the best sleeping mode. The treatment was short lived and the pain reoccurs each evening. My OB and I have both agreed its my organs pushing north plus the muscles in my chest/upper abdomen stretching. Ouch. Sadly there isn't much to do in terms of relief.

I got my recliner this past weekend and have been sleeping in it several hours a night. While its comfortable to watch tv in (I get why it's an important piece of the man caves), it's not the best for sleeping. Better than my bed these days. All worth it in the end but makes functioning a challenge.

Tired of people telling me it will prepare me for having a newborn. Definitely feeling the hormonal crabbiness if you couldn't tell!?

On a good note, Olive has been kicking up a storm and has grown to almost 2 lbs at 1lb and 11ozs at my last appt at 25 weeks. My appts are still every 2 weeks but my OB feels my cervix has behaved and doesn't feel like we need to monitor.
I was able to get a great photo of her last week!! Really can't wait to see her in person. 14 weeks and counting :)

I have my one hour gestational diabetes test tomorrow ...I figured might as well eat some waffles and syrup just in case I have GD!! :) might add an oreo in there tonight. It's been a long month at work!!

Until we chat again. I will try to be better about weekly updates :)

23 weeks

It's been a long week again due to the work pressures but lots of "to do's" have been crossed off my list.

Had echo heart scan for Baby Olive that went extremely well. She pretty much behaved herself and allowed us to see her sweet heart. She was flippy but overall she did a great job.  Cervix looked long and my OB joked he was tired of checking it. We talked about fetal movement and my fears of stillbirth. Normally, kick counts start at 28 weeks but he said I can start tracking them now. I downloaded a great app to track them. Each morning and evening, I relax in bed and track how long it takes her to get to 10 kicks. Not long. I think her longest time was 7 mins which is still amazing.
Does help to keep me centered as I do get distracted at work and don't notice her soft movements as much.

What I do notice is the pressure and pain that is pushing on my ribs. It's pretty uncomfortable by late in the day. The space right where my two ribs meet in the middle is sore and its getting difficult to sleep. I have my moments of intense pain. This too shall pass and suck it up has been my mantra this week. Eating lots of small meals and not past 8 pm. I am more comfortable laying down but obviously that doesn't bode well for work!! Neither does going bra-less :)

I was able to refinance my condo after a long frustrating closing. This will help me reduce my mortgage and rent out my condo and find a 2 bedroom townhouse for me and baby. Onto the next items. Originally I wanted to be out of here my March 1st but I think this might not be so realistic. Working with a realtor to find a place and will list my place on Craig's List and around a local hospital for a potential resident.

Talking lots to Baby Olive and she still loves her Bob Marley. So, can't wait to meet her and getting excited to see her sweet face. What will she look like? What will her personality be like? Will she sleep well? Will she breastfeed well? All these questions whizzing by as I try to focus on work.

I also completed my registry last weekend but haven't shared with others. 3rd trimester my next milestone.

I can do this. Think that might be mantra for week 24.

On to my weekend to do list!!
